Chapter 15: Hometown Visitors.....

The next day dawned and with it the Kansas winter, which had been said to be the worst winter in the last ten years.

“Morning” Clark said still semi-asleep but knowing that Lex had to get up and ready for a day of work.

“Morning to you” Lex shot back before kissing Clark quickly and then making his way to the bathroom to get ready for the day. Clark could only groan as he saw what time it was.

“How do you do it?” Clark asked the empty room not expecting an answer but getting one anyway.

“It's the Luthor blood” Lex said sticking his head out of the bathroom with a shark like smile on his face. Clark only groaned at the look on Lex's face for he knew that his husband would come out in full Luthor mode once he was done and that would leave Clark hard and wanting to spend quality time with his husband that he knew he wouldn't get. Ten minutes later Lex came out of the bathroom with a smile on his face at how great he felt.

“Come here” Lex said standing near the door to the room with his business suit on, looking all of the tags that the media had claimed he was; from Sexiest Man Alive to A Fallen Angel , all of which were true in most cases if you asked Clark . Clark made his way toward his husband happy to see that the fight with Lionel last night hadn't hurt Lex in any way. Lex may have not said anything but Clark knew that the other man always worked for the approval of his father, even if he knew that the other man would never give his son that sort of praise.

“I'll call you when I get out of the meeting” Lex said before kissing Clark and not waiting for a response since he knew that Clark would be waiting for the call regardless of if he said he would call or not. Clark nodded his head once the pair parted and watched as Lex made his way out of hospital room and hospital it's self. Once Lex was out of view Clark made his way to his room to wait for Lex to either call or return back to the hospital; little did Clark know that a car full of Smallville teens were making their way to the hospital livid at being told where Clark was and what had happened to the teen while he was away from Smallville. It was two hours later that Clark was woken out of his reading of a book that he had received from Mary about languages but yelling between a group of people outside of his door.

“Ummm” Clark said once he opened his door and saw that Mary and a few other nurses on the floor seemed to be fighting with three teens that looked a lot like Pete, Chloe and Lana.

“Clark Jermone Kent !” The blonde haired teen of the group said before spinning around and pinning Clark with a glare that had Clark returning automatically.

“Chloe…Pete, Lana” Clark said once he figured out who was there.

“How could you do this to us? I thought we were your best friends?” Chloe said putting on some water works hoping that it would have Clark spilling the beans so that she could write an article that would be published in the Daily Planet if she was lucky. Clark was about to speak when the phone in his room began to ring, making Clark turn around and make his way to his room to answer it knowing that it was Lex.

“Hello” Clark said just in case it wasn't Lex.

“Hello husband of mine” Lex said with a smile on his face.

“Hey” Clark said not noticing that the three Smallville teens had followed him and were listening to the one sided conversation that was occurring in front of them.

“So how are you doing?” Lex said going into ‘Mother Luthor' mode while in the comfort of his office.

“Could be better” Clark said thinking of the three teens that he had just noticed were in his room with him.

“What's wrong” Lex asked concerned already trying to figure out if he could get out of the rest of the meeting and go back to the hospital to take care of his husband.

“I have some visitors is all” Clark said not wanting to hear any of the three teens words on if he said what he really wanted to say.

“I take it they are not people you wish to speak to?”

“Yeah”

“Do I dare ask?”

“Let me just say that she did as promised” Clark said making the three teens in the room wonder what was really being said between the Clark and the person who was on the other side of the phone.

“Mr. Ross, Ms. Sullivan and Ms. Lang then” Lex said with a sigh wondering on if he could have the three kicked out for he knew how much pain the three could and would cause to his husband.

“Yeah” Clark said not at all worried about getting off of the phone any time soon since he had no real urge to talk to the three teens anyway.

“Not in a hurry to get off of the phone?”

“Nope, hope you don't mind” Clark said sounding not at all sorry about staying on the phone with Lex.

“Not at all, but I will have to go back to the meeting. We are making great progress….” Lex said before continuing on about how the meeting was going and the sort of things that the group had agreed upon. It was while Clark listened to Lex speak that the three teens got angrier and angrier over the way that Clark was treating them.

“Well I have to go” Lex said fifteen minutes later and with a smirk on his face for he knew that the teens were livid by now if they weren't before.

“Okay, love you” Clark said not biting his tongue at the words that he spoke to Lex.

“Love you too and I should be back to the hospital by five” Lex said before hanging up the phone and going back to the meeting leaving Clark to deal with the three Smallville teens.

“ Clark , what the hell?” Chloe spoke for the trio, knowing that she would be able to get the most out of the larger man.

“Oh, you're still here” Clark said by way of greeting the trio.

“What is that supposed to mean? We are your friends of course we are here and what the hell is going on? How come Ms. Atkins tells us that you are in a hospital in Metropolis and that you are supposedly married to Lex?” Chloe said fury clearly evident on her face. She had always thought that she would be the first to know the going ons of Lex Luthor's life due to Clark association to the man but to find out from a teacher that her friend had not only married Lex Luthor but had also not told them made her livid and five other emotions that she couldn't put into words.

“Ms. Atkins is a busy woman isn't she” Clark mumbled to himself knowing that the three were listening wanting to know every detail of his life since that had been the way it had been for years since they had met.

“ Clark what is going on?” Chloe said her angry clear to everyone that could hear her speak and that was quiet a few people due to her yelling at the top of her lungs at Clark .

“Don't worry about it, you didn't before” Clark finally said having had enough of the interrogation that he was getting from Chloe.

“What is that supposed to mean? We are you friends” Chloe screamed not understand what was going on with Clark .

“Leave” another voice said making the four turn toward the door.

“Lex” Clark said with a happy sigh, happy to see and hear his husband.

“Clark” Lex said before kissing Clark and then looking at the shocked three that still stood in Clark 's room.

“Lex” Chloe finally managed to get out before looking between the pair and coming to the conclusion that what Ms. Atkins had told them was true and that she needed to do something to break the pair up.

“Ms. Sullivan” Lex said now sitting next to Clark rubbing the younger man's back.

“Ms. Atkins said…..”

“What? That I was married to Clark and that you needed to save Clark from me?” Lex said knowing that Desiree would spin something anyway necessary to get what she wanted and right now that seemed to be him. Chloe gaped like a fish before she started in on how wrong it was that Lex had married Clark without any thought of Clark 's wellbeing and other things that she thought would make Lex annul the marriage.

“Ms. Sullivan you have worn out your welcome and I would advise the three of you to leave this room and the hospital.” Lex said before kissing Clark openly making Chloe even angrier at the pair.

“ Clark !” Chloe screamed making the pair pull apart and look at the three who all had looks of horror on their face.

“Chloe what?” Clark said with a sigh wondering why the three had even made the trip in the first place if this was the way they were going to act.

“What is going on?”

“Nothing you need to concern yourself with Ms. Sullivan” Lex said eyeing the trio and making them rethink the trip that they had made to yell at Clark . When they had heard that Clark was in the hospital they had asked for the reason why, when they found out that Clark had married Lex somehow they had been angry that they had not been told or even invited; now though watching Lex in Luthor mode had the trio rethinking the words that Ms. Atkins had told them.

“What's wrong with you? Why are you here?” Chloe said by way of changing topic, hoping that it would get Lex off her and their cases as to why they were there.

“That too is none of your concern Ms. Sullivan” Lex said sitting next to Clark and holding the other man while he spoke.

“Clark, man!” Pete finally said to the pair sitting in front of him. Clark just looked at Pete and wondered what he could say that wouldn't have the three jumping down his throat.

“Why are you bald?” Lana said with an airy tone to her voice.

“That is none of your concern; did you not hear me the first time?” Lex said wondering if the three in front of him were stupid or just deaf to him speaking to them.

“Luthor stay out of this” Pete said with a look on his face that said ‘just try me'.

“I will not “stay out of it” as you put it since Clark is my husband” Lex said confirming the words that Desiree had spoken to the trio before they left for Metropolis.

“ Clark !” Both Lana and Chloe screamed each for very different reasons; Chloe because now she wouldn't have the chance to be with Clark and Lana for Lex now being married and not to her.

“What?” Clark said finally tired of hearing Chloe and Lana shoot questions at him.

“What in the hell is going on?” Chloe said through gritted teeth.

“That isn't your concern Ms. Sullivan” Lex answered for Clark since he could tell that Clark was tired and not in the mood to answer any questions that were coming from the three teens.

“Luthor” Pete said with a warning in his voice, showing just how angry he was at what was going on.

“Ms. Ross, let me repeat myself; I am not going to stay out of whatever confrontation you plan to have with my husband so do us all a favor and leave” Lex said his voice hinting at how angry he really was; both Lana and Pete paled at the words while Chloe only seemed to get angrier.

“ Clark if you don't answer me right now….” Chloe threatened hoping that she would get some sort of information out of Clark and soon since it seemed that she would have a lot to write about for the Smallville paper and the Torch as well once she arrived back to Smallville.

“You are going to threaten my husband” Lex said now making his way towards Clark 's room door to call a nurse to get the trio to leave.

“I will do what I want to Clark , he is my friend”

“Oh, a friend that you haven't spoken to in how long Ms. Sullivan? Did you even know that Clark was sick before Desiree Atkins told you or were you too busy to be bothered with that sort of investigation?” Lex threw back at Chloe shocking her at the words that he spoke to her. Now that she thought about it she hadn't spoken, seen or been near Clark in months and hadn't really even wondered why.

“I see that got you thinking” Lex said seeing the change on Chloe's face knowing that he had made the girl think of the past few months and how much time she had taken to find out what was going on with Clark.

“ Clark , I'm sooooo sorry” Chloe said with tears in her eyes now.

“Just leave” Clark finally said before closing his eyes knowing that Lex would make sure that the three teens would leave and not return for a while if Lex had a say in it. When the words finally came out of Clark's mouth, it was a stunned Chloe and Pete that made the most noise while being escorted out of Clark 's room by security.

“This isn't over” Chloe threw over her shoulder to Clark as she made her way out of the room with Pete and Lana following behind them at a slower pace.

“Yes it is Ms. Sullivan” Lex said for Clark before giving the security guards and other staff that worked on the floor instructions on what to do should the three teens decide to try and visit Clark again.

“Okay?” Lex said once he made sure that everything was in place should the teens try again to see Clark .

“Could be better” Clark said sighing when Lex placed a hand on his cheek and rubbed it, calming him down immediately.

“Let me see if I can make you feel any better” Lex said before kissing Clark and hoping that he could get his husband's mind off of the meeting he just had with Chloe, Lana and Pete. Clark moaned into the kiss and soon forgot all about who had just been there to visit him. It was just as Lex was about to pull off Clark 's pants that a knock to the door came.

“Give me a break” Lex mumbled before getting up and unlocking the door only to see the last person on Earth he wanted to deal with while Clark was in bed hard and waiting for him.

“Father” Lex said not letting his father in the room, knowing that as soon as he got a look at Clark that he would be at Lex's throat.

“Alexander” Lionel said trying to look past Lex into the room that he had been told that Clark was staying while in Metropolis.

“What do you want?” Lex said now seeing that his father was here for a reason and that was never a good thing for him.

“To speak to Mr. Kent ” Lionel said not at all happy at finding out that his son had already taken to changing Clark 's last name to Luthor.

“It's Luthor as I know you know, so do be nice and use it” Lex said confident that he would win this battle with his father.

“Alexander” Lionel said with a sigh that should be any body besides Lionel Luthor it would make a person concerned and sad over the tone in his voice, but since it was Lionel Luthor all knew to shiver in fear for what the man would do with that tone in his voice.

“Father, I don't have time to play these games with you today so why don't you get to the point and be done with it.”

“Fine but to do that I need to speak with Clark * Kent *” Lionel said knowing that it would make his son angry at hearing that he would not call Clark a Luthor.

“Lex just let him in” Clark said from the other side of the door making Lionel smirk when his son did as he was told.

“Would have been easier should you have listened to me.” Lionel said in passing making Lex make a face that had Clark laughing.

“Mr. Kent ” Lionel said before taking a seat in a chair near the bed. When his son sat on the bed he ground his teeth trying not to say anything about the move his son had just done.

“It's Luthor but you already knew that” Clark said eyeing the piece of paper that was in Lionel's hand.

“That I do, that I do” Lionel said before moving the piece of paper from one hand to the other before placing it on the bedside table for both Lex and Clark to see.

“An Annulment?” Lex said looking at his father as if he had truly lost his mind.

“It's the easiest way for this to be over, so do sign it and I can be on my way” Lionel said hoping that should he guilt Clark enough that his son would sign for that reason alone.

“No” Clark said knowing that Lionel would not be above using guilt to get Lex and he to sign the papers in front of them now.

“I think I heard you wrong” Lionel said now standing up to his full and imposing height which only made Clark want to stand up and stand the man down, for he had on several occasions done just that and won every time since he was well over two inches taller than Lionel.

“No you didn't so take that annulment and shove it” Clark said now angry that Lionel had come to the hospital only to get their signatures for the annulment. He had no thoughts of Lionel coming for a visit but he would have thought the man would have waited to pull a stunt like this.

“Mr. Kent ” Lionel said through gritted teeth which showed just how angry and frustrated Lionel was that things weren't going as planned.

“It's Luthor so get used to it” Lex piped up sitting next to Clark , which only made Lionel want to murder his son.

“Alexander” Lionel said eyeing his son and thinking if there was a way to get the two to sign with little trouble.

“Father just leave, Clark needs his rest” Lex said knowing his father was already thinking of ways to get the annulment signed and him back under his thumb.

“Alexander you will meet me tomorrow morning at LuthorCorp's Board room” Lionel said before swirling his long black jacket and making his way out of the room and to one place that he knew would make Clark and his son do what he wanted. Lex made a face at his father's back before turning to Clark to see if the younger man was doing okay.

“I'm tired” Clark said before Lex could even ask if he was doing okay.

“Rest then, I have some things that I need to take care of but I will be here” Lex said before getting out of bed and making his way to the large chair that sat in the room that he had seen Clark in a time or time. Clark just nodded his head before lying down and falling right to sleep.

For the next few hours Clark was woken up by nurses and Lex alike to make sure that he was doing well, it was as the evening hours came that Clark managed to stay up long enough to ask Lex what was he to do should Pete, Chloe and Lana decide to show up again tomorrow.

“Lex what should I do?” Clark said holding onto one of Lex's free hands.

“You could tell the nurses station that you wish not to see any visitors besides your parents and myself…although it is almost as if I live here” Lex said before mumbling the part about living there just loud enough that Clark could which made the younger man laugh.

“I'll make sure to tell Mary that you live here with me and that you should be let in at anytime.” Clark said a big grin on his face at the thought of telling Mary, the head nurse, that Lex Luthor was a resident of the wing and that all calls and business items should be taken care of ASAP; as if they were the staff at the castle or even the penthouse.

“Don't you dare” Lex said a smile on his face to show that he was only joking.

“Fine, fine” Clark said before stealing a kiss right before the dinner tray came in for Clark .

“Ugh” Clark said before opening up the covered dish and finding a surprise there. For there sitting on the plate was something that Clark had not expected to see; a meal prepared that looked fit for even Lex to eat and that was saying something since Lex was a food snob when it came to meals.

“Is everything all right?” Lex said before looking at the plate and wondering what was wrong.

“I see that Susannah got the message that we are back” Lex said eyeing the meal and wondering if Clark would be eating it or not.

“You called Susannah?” Clark asked surprised that Lex had been so busy since they arrived back.

“Of course, I refuse to have my husband eat that crap they call food here” Lex said as if it was an everyday occurrence to have one's own chef prepare a meal for a “resident” of a hospital.

“Love you” Clark said before kissing Lex and then digging into his meal. Once Lex was certain that the meal was up to par for Clark he began on his own meal himself. The rest of the night for the pair was spent thinking up evil ways to bring Desiree Atkins down along with Lionel Luthor; little did they know that Desiree was going to see to her own destruction. After the meal was finished and the trays cleared away by the kitchen staff at the hospital, Clark noticed that Lex seemed to be deep into something that he had been working on before he had woken up. Clark was just about to ask Lex if he would mind him watching some TV when in walked Dr. Julie with a nurse following behind her with a laptop in hand.

“ Clark ….Lex” Dr. Julie said once she saw that both were in the room. It was when she said Lex's name that the nurse jerked and looked wide-eyed at Lex; as if she was seeing a movie star for the first time.

“Dr. Julie” Clark said a smile on his face, since he was trying hard to not laugh at the look the nurse was giving Lex.

“This here is Tabitha and she is going to be my new “scribe”, when I am with patients” Dr. Julie said with just a bit of an eye roll at the thought of having someone follow you around all day while you try and do your job.
