Chapter 14: Desire and Lambs make for pesky bed fellows.....
“Clark” Lex called to Clark who just so happened to have his arms wrapped around Lex so tight that the other man couldn't move to the bathroom where he really wanted to be at that moment in time.
“Whazz” Clark said shaking his head a bit and then realizing that Lex was in bed with him.
“Hi” Clark said a smile on his face to wake up with his husband by his side on the first day back in Metropolis.
“Same to you Clark, but I have to go to the bathroom” Lex said pushing at Clark to make the other man move just enough so that he could break free of the grip and make his way to the bathroom.
“Okay” Clark said before kissing Lex and releasing his hold on the other man. He knew how odd Lex got when it was morning and time for his morning “pit-stop”, since he had kept Lex in bed one day only to have Lex stop speaking with him for a few hours before he realized how silly he was being.
“Love you” Lex said before disappearing into the bathroom to relieve his bladder that had been screaming at him since he woke.
“Clark” pulled the younger man out of his thoughts of Lex by the voice of his mother.
“Hey mom” Clark said happy to see his mom since he left for the wedding and honeymoon with Lex.
“So how was your trip?” Martha asked turning pink at the idea of Clark and Lex in bed together doing things that would make any grown woman hot under the collar.
“Good, I got a tan” Clark said blushing knowing his mother was looking at him for any signs of what he and Lex had been up to while in California.
“So I see, it's good to see you looking so well in this horrible winter we are having” Martha said before smiling brightly at Lex as he walked out of the bathroom with only a pair of sleep pants on. This of course made Clark blush and want to hide under the covers as far as he could go but since Lex made him move over he could only sigh and try not to look at his mother's face.
“So Lex how was the trip for you? Clark said he had a good time” Martha said wanting to know why he son had not said that he had a great time as she would have expected.
“We had a few issues with Ms. Atkins showing up and our concierge, but besides that it was a wonderfull time.” Lex said looking at Clark and the blush that was still on his face at talking to his mother about the wedding and honeymoon that they had just gotten back from.
“Good to hear” Martha said but before she could continue on a nurse walked in humming a wedding march.
“Mary!” Clark said with a laugh and then a smile before the woman in question made her way over to where Clark sat with his arms at the ready for her to take his blood pressure and other vital signs.
“So let me see that amazing ring Mr. Luthor got you…” Mary said with a school girl giggle and then a slap to Clark's hand when he stuck out his hand and said that he was Mr. Luthor. Everyone in the room laughed at Clark's remark and made the couple that was now back feel even better that there were people out there that still cared for them now that they were married. The joy in the room lasted until Lex's cell phone went off to the ‘Death March' that was associated with his father.
“Father, how good to hear from you” Lex said before rolling his eyes at Clark to let him know that he had been expecting the phone call and was ready for what the other man was going to try and throw at him.
“I want you in my office within the hour do you understand me?” Lionel said before hanging up the phone before Lex could answer. Lex shook his head and then closed the cell phone before tossing it on the bed side table not at all worried about going to see his father. If there was one thing that Lex was certain about it was that going to see his father at the present time would end with him signing papers that would not be in his or Clark's best interest.
“So what did Lionel the Lamb have to say?” Clark said he had always wanted to give Lionel Luthor a name that spoke of the other's man lack of emotions at least in a sarcastic manner.
“Lionel the Lamb?” Lex said raising his eyes brows at Clark's words.
“Yeah, I mean under that furry hair he must have a heart, right?” Clark said before his mouth started twitching and then he broke out laughing.
“Hmmmm” Lex said before he heard Martha laughing at what her son had just said about his father.
“I must agree with Clark, it does make you wonder if he is in the hair club for men or something” Martha said before getting up and hugging her son before leaving and going off to work.
“Hair club for men?” Lex asked Clark wondering what the woman was talking about, it was at that time that Mary cut in since it seemed like Clark wasn't going to stop laughing any time soon.
“It's this commercial on TV that tells men who are bald or going bald to get hair plugs basically.” Mary said before laughing a bit at the thought of Lex with hair. It was one thing about the Luthor heir that all could say and that was that he was very, very sexy with no hair and made for a fascinating person, if the many interview requests were something to go by.
“Hair plugs? Your mother thinkis my father is using hair plugs?” Lex asked amazed that Martha Kent had said something so out of the ordinary about his father.
“Come on Lex, how old is your father? He can't have that much hair naturally” Clark said before kissing Lex to stop him from asking any more questions. The kiss soon turned heated but a throat being cleared made the pair break apart and Clark blush a bright red.
“Sorry” Clark said not looking at Mary but at the cover that was on his lap.
“No problem dear the two of you make an old lady like me hot under the collar or scrubs as it seems” Mary said with a grin on her face before patting Clark and declaring him healthy enough to have breakfast outside of bed if Lex would promise to not take him out of the building. Lex promised and waited for Clark to get as ready as he could before taking a shirt out of the cabinet and putting it on before leaving the room. The pair of them walked to the elevators and then rode down with little to anyone noticing that Lex was there and with an overly large teenager. The pair soon arrived to a cafeteria style restaurant where there was an all you can eat breakfast bar that Clark made a bee line to.
“Hey” Clark said before pulling his hand that had been slapped back away from the stack of bacon that was calling his name.
“You are not going to eat *that* are you?” Lex said with a shocked and scandalized look on his face.
“Well yeah” Clark said before trying again to get some bacon on his plate.
“Hey” Clark said again when Lex hit him again on the hand that was making its way towards the bacon again.
“You are *not* going to eat that” Lex said in his Luthor voice that made Clark hard at hearing the rumble of Lex's voice with that silken control that all Luthor's had.
“Oh yes I am” Clark said before darting away from Lex and grabbing a huge pile of bacon and putting it on his plate and then making his way over to the waffle maker area to make a waffle to go with his huge pile of bacon. The people around the area watched amazed as Clark ran around like a little kid with Lex following behind him with a small smile on his face.
“Clark do you know how *fatting* that is?” Lex started once Clark had stopped at the waffle maker to make a waffle or two and some toast in the toaster sitting in the next area over.
“Does it look like I care?” Clark said a smile on his face and then patting his still rock hard abs which had Lex groaning the thought of said abs.
“You are teasing me” Lex said a glint in his eyes that told Clark that he had better be up for some sort of action and soon if he planned to see the light of day.
“Maybe, but I told you I will not have us making love in this hospital so you better find some where for us to go for a bit” Clark said before taking his waffle and then putting one on Lex's plate and then grabbing the now buttered toast as well.
“You my husband have a deal” Lex said with a smirk on his face that made Clark worry before he figured that Lex wouldn't do anything too bad to him, at least he thought so.
“What would you like to drink?” Broke Clark out of his thoughts of what Lex had in mind for him.
“Ummm” Clark said not sure on what they had to offer for beverages.
“I'll have a bottled water and an apple juice, and Clark will have some milk and a very large glass of Coke.” Lex said easily helping out his husband since he seemed to be in another world at the moment.
“Alright” the woman said before ringing up the food and drinks that Clark and Lex had both gotten.
“That will be, ten dollars and forty-three cents” the woman said before she look a good look at the pair and realized that she was talking to ‘The Lex Luthor'.
“Charge it to room 5-910” Lex said before the woman entered the room number and then nodded her head due to her vocal cords taking a vacation.
“Thank you” Clark said a little shy of what people would say when they figured out that Lex Luthor was eating with him, some loser at the hospital.
“Stop thinking that” Lex said knowing where Clark's thoughts where going.
“You shouldn't be here; you should be having breakfast with someone like Victoria Hardwick or Ms. Atkins if she hadn't cheated on you.” Clark whispered to Lex.
“No, I should be eating with the love of my life and my husband” Lex said before taking Clark to a table and then kissing him before he could sit down. The people around them wondered what was going on but knew better than to try and find out since the older of the pair look a lot like Lex Luthor.
“Sap” Clark said once he pulled away with a smile on his face. Lex always knew how to make him feel better even when things were rough for him, he had thought of the many things that Lex had done for him over the years and had to smile or laugh at some of them.
“Now let's eat” Lex said not responding to Clark's declaration of him being a sap, for he knew that he was one when it came to anything dealing with Clark. Clark just nodded his head and smiled knowing that he had won the fight over Lex being a sap. Fifteen minutes later had the pair walking back up to Clark's room and to where a cell phone sat ringing.
“Luthor” Lex barked into the phone knowing that it was his father, since he had yet to leave the hospital for ‘quality time' with his father.
“I told you to be here over an hour ago, where are you and why are you not here?” Lionel barked into the phone making Lex want to laugh at the way his father was acting and what Clark had said about his father earlier.
“I'm with my husband” Lex said smiling at Clark and the roll of the eyes that the other man had done when he said the words.
“If you think that Kent *boy* is your husband….” Lionel started off only to be cut off by a woman in the background yelling something.
“Father it sounds as if you have a guest, I won't keep you then” Lex said before hanging up the phone and then laughing until tears came to his eyes.
“Lex” Clark called out wondering what had the older man in such a good mood.
“My father….my father actually thought I would be stupid enough to go to LuthorCorp and follow his instructions on what I should do with my life.” Lex said while wiping away the tears from his eyes and still grinning at the words the woman had said before he hung up the phone.
“So you are okay?” Clark said worried that Lionel had done something to Lex that would have the other man in revenge mode for days afterwards.
“Fine, fine” Lex said waving away Clark's concern.
“Good” Clark said before grabbing Lex and kissing him silly so that the other man wouldn't think about his father and what the other man had planned for the pair of them.
“Are you testing me?” Lex said running his hands up and down Clark's body hoping that the other man would allow him to make love to him at the hospital.
“Maybe” Clark said before pulling Lex down with him on the bed still kissing the older man.
“If you don't want me to take you right here and right now, then you better stop” Lex said his eyes telling Clark to let him have this moment with him.
“No I don't think I will, but you will lock the door won't you?” Clark said before pulling himself up more on the bed while Lex made a bee line to the door to lock it and make sure that no one was coming to visit Clark within the next little bit.
“Clark” Lex said once he was at the side of the bed where Clark was lounging in a position that had Lex hard within seconds.
“You tempt me too much” Lex said before prowling onto the bed and then kissing Clark trying to make as little noise as possible so that they wouldn't have a crowd outside their door when the left for lunch or later on in the day.
“I try” Clark said before laughing a bit due to Lex tickling him, soon after though the laughs turned into moans and Lex couldn't help but smirk at how easy it was to get his husband so passionate about things.
“Ssshh” Lex said before kissing Clark again and then taking off the little bit of clothing the pair had on. Soon after Lex was entering Clark for the first time since they arrived back from California and Lex wasn't really sure on how he lasted as long as he did when the feeling of Clark incasing his member made him feel complete and at home something that he had never felt with anyone else. It was one of the main reasons on why Lex had fought so hard to be Clark's friend in the beginning, sure Clark was beautiful but it was Clark's treatment of him that made him feel as if the younger man really did care for him, Lex Luthor not Alexander Luthor heir of Lionel Luthor and LuthorCorp, but Lex Luthor science nerd and lover of Warrior Angel comics.
“Lex” Clark whispered out as he felt Lex pump into him and also felt Lex's hands running up and down his body.
“Come for me” Lex whispered into Clark's ear minutes later when he knew he wouldn't be able to hold out much longer. With those whispered into Clark's ear, Clark exploded onto his stomach and onto Lex's chest as the man above him pumped into him two more times before groaning out his climax.
“Wow” Clark said a minute later once Lex was on his side next to him.
“I must agree” Lex said before kissing Clark at a slow yet passionate pace.
“Knock, knock” was said through the door in a woman's or girl's voice, neither could tell due to the muffling through the door. It was then that Clark turned red at the thought of someone especially his mother coming in and seeing and smelling the air in the room.
“Can we just not answer the door?” Clark whispered to Lex hoping the other man knew what to do. Lex smirked at Clark and kissed his husband to take his mind off of the person on the other side of the door.
“Clark , Dr. Rowley said you were back and I just wanted to see how you were doing” the voice said through the door making both boys want to groan at the thought of who was on the other side of the door.
Clark ?” The voice called again hoping for some sort of response.
“Lex” Clark whispered hoping that the person on the other side of the door would go away so that he wouldn't have to deal with them and the embarrassment he felt with making love to Lex in the hospital room.
“Just don't answer” Lex said before kissing Clark again to try and get him to forget the woman on the other side of the door.
“That is what got us in this mess” Clark said before returning Lex's kiss. Lex didn't get a chance to respond due to another voice speaking through the door.
“Ms. Roberts, didn't I tell you to leave Mr. Kent alone?” Another female voice said.
“Do you think that is Dr. Julie?” Clark asked Lex now that he heard the other voice.
“Don't know and don't care” Lex said pulling Clark to him since the younger man had sat up at hearing a second voice at the door.
“Lex” Clark said with a smirk on his face, he was amazed at how Lex was acting considering the Luthor heir was known to not be the friendliest person on the planet, and with a father like Lionel Luthor it was no wonder.
“Clark don't worry about it” Lex said clearly ready for round two.
“No” Clark said finally getting Lex to sit up on the bed and just in time for a knock to come on the door.
“What should we do?” Clark said looking around the room and hoping that there was a way for him to be swallowed up in a black hole so that he wouldn't have to face his doctor after Lex making love to him.
“Answer the door” Lex said surprised that Clark was still panicking over answering the door.
“You sure” Clark said looking for some sort of guidance from Lex.
“Yes” Lex said before a voice came through the door.
“Clark it's Dr. Rowley, I'm just checking up on you this morning. Can you let me in?”
“Well are you going to let her in?” Lex said smirking at his husband as he stood up and put some clothes on so that he was naked when the good doctor came in to check up on Clark .
“Yeah, just a minute” Clark said grabbing his sleeping pants and t-shirt off the floor where Lex had thrown them the minute they got into the room.
“Ready” Lex asked Clark who now sat on the bed his cheeks as red as can be and not looking at the door in any way shape or form.
“As I'll ever be” Clark said before laughing a bit and then looking back at the blanket that lay over his bare feet. At those words Lex unlocked the door and opened it for the doctor that stood on the other side of the door.
“Mr. Luthor….. Clark ” Dr. Julie said smiling at the pair at the pair and the looks that both had on their faces. Lex's was a look of smug happiness while Clark 's was one of embarrassment and happiness as well.
“Call me Lex and you can call Clark Mr. Luthor from now on” Lex said with a smirk on his face before he walked over to the bed and kissed Clark on the cheek and then sat next to him.
“So I take it the wedding went off without too many problems?” Dr. Rowley said a smile on her face at how happy the pair of they were with each other.
“A few bumps but nothing that stopped the wedding” Lex said waiting for Clark to speak up but if the red face and the staring at the blanket was any indication the younger man didn't plan to speak or look at his doctor unless he had to.
“Clark are you alright?” Dr. Rowley asked concerned that Clark wasn't feeling well due to his face being red for so long.
“Fine” Clark squeaked out before clearing his throat and speaking again.
“Just fine” Clark said looking at his doctor and looking for some sort of humiliation that he knew would be there, since his Smallville “friends” had no problems with making fun or humiliating him.
“Are you sure? You have a treatment coming up in a couple of weeks and I want you tip-top shape” Dr. Rowley said in full out doctor mode making Lex laugh a bit at his husband and how silly he could be about things. Clark just nodded his head but knew that Dr. Rowley would be ordering a battery of tests just to confirm Clark 's words.
“Let me order some tests just to make sure” Dr. Rowley said before speeding out of the room and to the computer that lay outside to order the tests that she would need to see how Clark was really doing.
“They just won't leave me alone” Clark groaned to Lex knowing that his husband would only smile and wait with him while they took his blood and ran the tests.
“Clark ? Clark !” A female voice called from outside of the now open door.
“You have to be kidding me?” Clark mumbled under his breath amazed that the girl was still here waiting to see either him or Lex.
“Hi Ava” Clark said with a tense smile on his face at having to talk to the young woman in his doorway.
“Mr. Luthor” Ava said surprised to see Lex in Clark's room, when her sister had said that Lex Luthor was in a Metropolis penthouse with her getting ready for the latest edition to the Luthor clan.
“Ms. Roberts?” Lex said with a raise of his eyebrows and a look to Clark to see if the younger man wanted the woman gone. The decision was taken out of Lex's hands when Dr. Rowley arrived back to the room.
“Ava, please leave Misters Luthor alone, they have just arrived back as I told you earlier.”
“Uh” Ava said speechless at the words that Dr. Rowley just spoke.
“Clark ” Mary said before coming in with a younger woman behind her.
“Uh” Clark said at a loss as to what to say and to who, he was now in full out embarrassment mode and had no way to tell Lex to make the people leave.
“This here is a new lab tech and she will be the one to take your blood” Mary said before the newest woman in the room walked up to Clark's bed not taking notice that there was another body on the bed with the large teenager.
“Hi, my name is Xana and I will be taking your blood. Do you have an arm preference?” The girl asked while looking over her sheet to pull the correct tubes that she would need for the blood tests.
“Right” Clark said knowing that when ever they drew blood they always had better luck with his right arm.
“Okay, hold this and squeeze it for me a couple of times” Xana said before tying a rubber tourniquet around Clark 's right bicep. It was as Xana was about ready to stick Clark with the needle that she noticed another body in bed with the patient. When she looked up she met the eyes of Lex Luthor, which left her a bit speechless.
“Quick stick” Xana said wanting to get this over and done with as soon as possible for the look she was getting from Lex was not one of friendly nature. Soon it was all over and all four women left the room to that of Clark and Lex.
“They're gone” Lex said nibbling on Clark's neck making him moan and wish that they could be alone for the next few hours, with out the fear of having someone walk in on them making love.
“Lex” Clark breathed out loving the feelings that Lex was creating by nibbling and sucking on his neck.
“Yes my love” Lex responded before going back to sucking on Clark 's neck. There was just something about all those women in the room and looking at Clark that made Lex's possessive side rise up and want to lay claim to the other man's body.
“I'm tired” Clark said knowing that if he didn't say something to his husband he wouldn't hear the end of it about not letting Lex know how he was feeling.
“Then you should rest” Lex said stopping what he was doing and laying next to his husband and looking him over with a critical eye. Clark nodded his head and then closed his eyes for a small rest that he felt he would need if the amount of people coming and going from his room was any sort of indication as to how the rest of his week was going to go. Hours later had the pair being woken up by Martha as she was on her lunch break.
“Clark, Lex” Martha said a sunny smile on her face that made Lex smile in return.
“Martha” Lex said with a nod of his head and then looking to the still sleeping Clark.
“Tired?” Martha said worried that Clark had pushed himself too far and was not paying the price.
“Big morning” Lex said before Clark woke up and opened his grass green eyes to meet that of his husband.
“Hi” Clark said a smile on his face, until he noticed that Lex wasn't looking at him.
“Mom” Clark said a smile lighting his face while he tried and sit up a bit in bed.
“No, you need to rest” Lex said before getting out of bed and making his way to the ensuite bathroom to get ready for the day that was ahead, which he knew his father would be in for a visit.
“How are you doing” Martha asked Clark, waiting for him to tell her the truth.
“I'm fine, just a bit tired from the trip but I feel much better than I did before I left” Clark said happy for once to tell his mother how he really felt. He always felt horrible lying to her about how badly the leukemia was affecting him, but for the first time since the beginnings of his treatment Clark felt as if he could beat the disease and still have a normal life with Lex, if normal and Lex went together in a sentence. At that thought Clark laughed making Martha smile just a bit more, she could tell that her son was fighting for all he was worth and she just knew that Lex was the reason why. It was as the pair spoke about Smallville and what was going on there that Lex stepped out of the bathroom in a suit.
“Where are you going?” Clark said eyeing the suit that Lex had on.
“I need to check in on LexCorp and then I figured I would pay my father a visit” Lex said coming over and sitting on the bed next to Clark.
“Just be careful” Clark said giving Lex a loving look before he stole a kiss from him.
“I am with Clark on this one, be careful” Martha said before watching as the pair said their goodbyes.
“I shall return shortly” Lex said properly knowing that Clark would get a kick out of him being so proper.
“Can't say be right back?” Clark said smiling at Lex.
“No, and on that note I am off” Lex said before walking towards the door and out of the room without waiting for a response.
“Does he do that a lot?” Martha asked confused on Lex's behavior.
“Yep” Clark said nodded his head while he spoke. Soon there after Martha noticed the time and decided to make her way back to work, after all Azure Interprises president was a demanding man and Martha always loved the challenge he would set forth.
“Love you” Martha said leaving Clark alone in his room to get some more rest, but rest was the last thing on Ava's mind.
“Clark?” Ava called into the room, noticing that it was empty for the first time since he arrived back.
“Hmmmm” Clark said slitting his eyes open and seeing Ava standing near the door.
“Hi Ava” Clark said sitting up a bit while wiping his eyes trying to wake up a bit.
“Hi Clark” Ava said looking around the room for any sign of Lex. When she was that he wasn't there she decided to do what her sister told her, since the woman was standing at the nurse's station tapping her high heeled foot.
“You have a visitor” Ava said shifting foot-to-foot, not wanting to be any where near the room when Clark found out who his visitor was.
“Oh?” Clark said confused on who else knew that he was in the hospital.
“Yeah, you want them to come in?” Ava said still at the door and looking guilty about something.
“Uh, sure” Clark said sitting up all the way now, and thinking over who would know where he was and would have a reason to come and visit him.
“I'll go and get them then” Ava said before dashing out of the room, to try one last time to talk her sister out of doing what she was going to do. She felt horrible for even mentioning to her sister that Clark and Lex were here, because both were really happy and she didn't want her sister to ruin it for Clark or Lex.
“Ava, what took you so long?” A woman said still tapping her foot while not noticing the nasty looks she was getting.
“Clark was asleep” Ava said eyeing her sister, wondering if there was a way to talk to her.
“So?” Ava's sister said before sighing and stomping her way over to the room that her sister had come from.
“Mr. Kent” met Clark's ears and he wanted to groan out loud. Desiree Atkins was standing in the doorway to his room with her standard outfit of tight fitting dress shirt, short skirt and high heeled shoes to match.
“Ms. Atkins” Clark said trying to be nice but knowing that she wasn't here to see how he was doing.
“Not for much longer” Desiree said with an evil smile on her face. She and Lionel had the perfect plan to get Lex to marry her; all she had to do was wait for the plan to work.
“Right, okay” Clark said looking at the woman confused but worried for what was going to happen since he knew that Lex was going to visit his father and if Desiree was here that meant that there was some sort of plan the pair was working on.
“I just wanted to say that…..well…..Lex isn't yours and he will never be yours” Desiree said hoping that she would be able to make Clark cry, but if that was the result she was looking for she was in for a surprise.
“And Lex isn't yours, so don't bother your self with who he decides to spend his time and life with” Clark said angry that this woman had come here to throw stones at him over his marriage to Lex.
“Oh but he is” Desiree said before giving a parting shot that made Clark see red.
“I wonder what those friends of yours would think about you married to Lex Luthor and not being invited to the wedding.” Desiree didn't want for a response because she knew that Clark wouldn't have one.
“Jeez” Clark said once he was certain that Desiree had left. He had to call Lex and warn him about whatever plan Lionel and Desiree were up to. Little did he know that Lex was already knew about the plan and was now in the process of making sure that it failed and horribly if he could manage it.
“Alexander” Lionel Luthor said as he saw his son stroll into his office at LuthorCorp Building.
“Father” Lex said taking a seat in one of the black leather chairs that sat on the other side of the desk where his father was sitting.
“So nice you decided to make it”
“I had something to do” Lex said already ready to leave his father and his games behind for some quality time with his husband.
“Hmmm” Lionel responded before sorting through a stack of papers looking for some documents that Lex *had* to sign.
“Sign these” Lionel said standing up and making his way towards where Lex sat.
“What are *these*?” Lex said eyeing the paperwork and seeing that they were blank and that there was already a signature on it of Desiree Atkins.
“LuthorCorp business” Lionel said thinking he had the upper hand over his son, oh how wrong he was.
“Since I no longer work for LuthorCorp, I don't think I need to be signing anything” Lex said already smirking at his father and his mistake that he made.
“You are my son and you are still part of LuthorCorp. I let you have your fun with your company but now it is time to get back to business.” Lionel said angry that Lex hadn't just signed the papers and been done with it like he had done time and time before.
“No, I am not still part of LuthorCorp, I may be your son but that is all father. I have my own company to run and my own life to live, so if you will excuse me” Lex said standing up and meeting his father toe-to-toe.
“Sign them” Lionel said pressing the pen into Lex's hand.
“I'll have my lawyer look them over” Lex said grabbing the papers from his father's hand and dropping the pen on his desk.
“Those papers are not going to leave this building without your signature on them; so do be a good boy and do as your told” Lionel said a nasty look on his face at the tough time he was having getting Lex to sign the papers.
“Sorry but no” Lex said before making his way to the door only to be stopped by Desiree walking in.
“So” Desiree said looking between the pair and realizing that she had made a mistake coming back to Lionel's office so soon.
“Ah, look father your new wife has arrived” Lex said a smirk on his face looking between the two.
“I'm sorry, I should have called or something” Desiree said worried that she had stopped Lex from signing the papers in his hands by coming into the office.
“You should have spoken with my assistant….Anita!” Lionel bellowed through the open door.
“Yes sir” a new voice said making Lex smirk even more, this day was just getting better and better.
“Why was I not notified that Ms. Atkins was here?”
“I told her you were not to be disrupted and yet she walked in anyway” Anita said not wanting to get the wrath of Lionel Luthor on her. She had told the woman that she could not go in, but she acted as if she hadn't heard her speak and went in anyway.
“Ms. Atkins is there a reason why you didn't listen to my assistant?” Lionel said knowing that Anita would never lie to him about what had happened.
“I….I just thought” Desiree said before shutting up since it seemed that during the small fight that had occurred Lex had left the office with the blank signed papers in hand.
“Damn it Alexander!” Lionel yelled at the top of his lungs hoping that it would stop Lex in his tracks; it was really just too bad that Lex was in the elevator talking to Clark so he didn't hear the scream that his father had done.
“What do you mean Ms. Atkins came for a visit?” Lex said his voice had a hard edge to it making the others in the elevator with him shift due to how uncomfortable they felt.
“She came and started talking about how you weren't mine and that you will never be mine” Clark said sniffing a bit at the words that Desiree had spoken to him.
“There is more of course, correct?” Lex said eyeing one of the men in the elevator making said man duck his head and blush. Lex just smirked.
“She then said something about telling my *friends* about being married to you and not being invited to the wedding, but she didn't say anything about telling them where I was or do you think they already know?” Clark said thinking things through and getting angrier at the idea of having Desiree Atkins telling the whole town of Smallville that Clark was in the hospital and married to Lex.
“Don't worry about that, I'll take care of it” Lex said still smirking due to the man in the elevator still blushing and shifting foot-to-foot. It was after those words were spoken that the bing of the elevator went off letting all know that they had arrived to a floor.
“I'll be there after I stop by my office” Lex said before stepping out of the elevator and making his way towards the main doors to the building. Lex continued to talk to Clark until he had arrived outside of the building looking for the valet to go and get his car.
“Mr. Luthor” the valet said taking the ticket that Lex had in his hands and dashing off to find the vehicle that matched the numbers of the ticket.
“I'll see you soon” Lex said before saying goodbye to Clark one last time, just as the SUV he had driven pulled up.
“Mr. Luthor” a man said from behind Lex, making him turn slightly to see that the man on the elevator had come outside to speak with him.
“Yes” Lex said with a raise of his eyebrows.
“I….uh….I was wondering” the guy started out only to be stopped by the valet speaking with Lex.
“Your vehicle Mr. Luthor”
“Thank you” Lex said tipping the man and then spinning back around to speak with the other man that was still standing out in the snow with no jacket on.
“The answer is no, I'm happily married” Lex said before walking past the front of his car and getting in. The man stood there stunned for a moment before going inside to see if he could find any information on who Lex Luthor married and when it occurred, since the news had yet to hit the ears of Metropolis' elite. Once Lex had pulled away he laughed until there were tears in his eyes, he knew his father would be on a rampage soon enough since he took the blank papers, but now that he had put someone on the path of him being married it was going to make any of the plans that his father and Desiree had that much harder.
“Take that father” Lex said as he pulled up to the LexCorp building with a smile on his face.
“Mr. Luthor” the valet said with respect in his voice, it was that way with all of the people that worked for or with Lex. Most Lex had stolen away from his father, when he had laid them off or fired them due to some reason or another, and now that his company was a raging success the workers respected him even more for taking the time to help them in their time of need.
“Chad” Lex said greeting the valet personally.
“I over heard Abbey talking about your marriage, congratulations are in order” Chad said with a smile on his tanned face.
“Thank you, and that Abbey” Lex said shaking his head at his assistant and her antics. He could be assured that there would be a party in the near future and Abbey would break out a costume to match the occasion as she tended to do.
“All the same congratulations and bring them by soon” Chad said smiling the whole time, thinking about who had caught Lex Luthor, heir to LuthorCorp, President and CEO of LexCorp, People's Sexy Man Alive and many other tags that had popped up since he was in Smallville.
“Will do, you'll just love them” Lex said an easy smile on his face before he walked into the building and said hello to all that spoke to him. ‘God it's good to be on top' Lex thought as he rode the elevator up to where his office and Abbey his assistant lived.
“Abbey” Lex said in full out Luthor mode, making the meek woman squeak and then laugh when a smile made it's way to his face.
“Don't do that!” Abbey said with a smile on her face, happy to see that her boss was actually happy for once.
“Telling secrets again?” Lex said standing in front of her desk, wanting to see how long she would last before spilling over that she had told someone about his marriage.
“I'm so sorry; it just sort of happened you know? I was like yeah and then BAM, it sort of slipped and I think the valet guy heard me…please don't be mad at me.” Abbey said looking scared since she had worked for the older Luthor before Lex had taken her away from him.
“It's fine” Lex said happy to see that Abbey was the same as always, a bit ADD but a great person none the less.
“Speaking of…where's the arm candy?” Abbey said once she got her bearings back.
“Arm candy?” Lex said with a smirk on his face and a raise of his eyebrows at the words that Abbey had chosen to describe his better half.
“Oh don't act like there” Abbey said still looking around trying to spot Lex's spouse.
“They aren't here, but I think you already knew that” Lex said with a laugh at the disappointed look that came over her face.
“Oh well, but you will bring them in; no?”
“That I will, just as soon as the doctor releases him for some free time” Lex said knowing that Abbey would want a more accurate time so that she could plan the party for Lex and Clark.
“Le sigh” Abbey said before telling Lex to call her the minute he found out when Clark was able to leave the hospital and have some fun with friends. Lex took the order as that and made his way in his office to call Clark and tell him about the happenings in his office building.
“Lex” Clark answered the phone, wondering why his husband was calling back so soon.
“My assistant” Lex said knowing that Clark knew the assistant in question.
“What did Abbey do now?” Clark said with a laugh.
“Le sigh….” Lex said before he heard Clark cracking up at the words.
“She does know how to get her point across, and what was the le sigh for?”
“My arm candy wasn't with me” Lex said smirking as he said the words.
“Arm candy? What is she talking about?” Clark said confused.
“You, my better half” Lex said before laughing at the noise that Clark just made.
“That is just wrong”
“Yes, but be that as it may she wants a date on when you plan to come and introduce yourself to her and the rest of the building it seems since she sort of spilled the secret.”
“Fine, fine…I'll ask Dr. Rowley about it” Clark said before he heard a large bang.
“Uh oh, Satan cometh?” Clark said waiting for Lex to say yes or no.
“That he is and his hair is in quite the tizzy” Lex said before hanging up the phone and waiting for his father was storm into the room.
“Alexander enough!” Lionel said while still grabbing at his coat as Abbey tried to take it away from the man.
“It's all right Abbey” Lex said and with a motion of his hand.
“Just sign the damned papers and give them here” Lionel said walking up to Lex's desk and slamming his fist down on it.
“I told you I am going to have my lawyer check them over, I would hate to sign something only to find out that what I signed wasn't what I thought I signed, father.” Lex said knowing that he had his father on this one, and he knew it.
“Well I can say I taught you well there” Lionel said before taking a seat in one of the chair in front of Lex's desk.
“Why are you fighting me on this?” Lionel said truly interested on why his son wasn't going ahead and doing what he wanted.
“I am a Luthor, no?” Lex said imitating Abbey and her words earlier.
“Alexander” Lionel said with a put out sigh.
“Father, you are trying to rule my life and that is one thing I will never, ever let you rule. My life is my own and I know damn well those papers have nothing to do with LuthorCorp and everything to do with Desiree Atkins.” Lex said finally putting the cards on the table so-to-speak.
“This is in your best interests”
“No it is in your best interests” Lex threw back at his father.
“You're smarter than I thought” Lionel said before getting out of his chair and making his way to the door.
“Just get rid of her” Lex said looking at his father and wondering how this man could care so little about his feelings and care so much about the betterment of his status in the business world and social circles. When no words were thrown back at him, he knew his father had heard what he said and was now thinking about what his next move was, if there was a next move. Lex just watched as his father left with out saying good bye, he didn't expect him to but some times his father could surprise him.
“Knock, knock boss” Abbey said leaning into the room through the open door.
“Abbey” Lex said shaking his head trying to clear it of the thoughts of what his father would do to him, if he didn't do as he was told.
“I have a phone call for you, but I'm not sure on how to handle it” Abbey said trying to keep a straight face.
“Well” Lex said waiting for her to explain the reason why the phone call was not all ready taken care of.
“Well the caller says that he is Mr. Luthor, but since….”
“Put him through” Lex said immediately, perking up as to why Clark had called him at the LexCorp office LAN line instead of on the cell phone as he was told to do many times.
“Are you sure?” Abbey said before looking at Lex and wondering if she would be able to keep a straight face until she reached her desk.
“Positive and if you ever get a call like that again, put them through to me immediately.”
“Will do boss” Abbey said before walking out of the office and to her desk to put Clark through to Lex.
“Clark, how many times do I have to tell you to call the cell phone?” Lex said after he picked up the transferred line.
“Well I figured if you were talking to your father that the best way to get rid of him is to have a call come into the office that you just couldn't refuse to take.” Clark said a smile on his face due to knowing that Lex would agree with his reasoning as soon as he explained himself.
“Always thinking of others, aren't you?” Lex said happy to hear Clark's voice so soon after dealing with his father.
“Always thinking about you” Clark said with a blush to his face, even though Lex couldn't see him he knew the blush was there.
“And I you” Lex said shaking his head at the sappiness that he seemed to be spouting these days while with Clark.
“Have I turned Lex Luthor into a sap?”
“No!” Lex said trying to use his Luthor voice but failing since he had a huge smile on his face.
“I have, I knew it!” Clark crowed into the phone making Lex want to be there with Clark , if it was only to kiss him to make him shut up.
“Okay, okay….sorry about that” Clark said once he calmed down enough to tell Lex the reason for his call.
“So besides trying to get rid of my father, is there another reason that you called?”
“Yeah, I asked Dr. Julie about me visiting the office and she said it would be okay but to do it before my next cycle of treatment.”
“And when is your next cycle?” Lex said already pulling up the calendar that he shared with Abbey.
“A week from tomorrow” Clark said looking at a calendar that he had placed on the night stand that told him when his next treatment cycle was.
“Well then, I will have to let Abbey know and get things set up” Lex said already checking his days to see if there was a free day that he could take to have a party with his employees for his marriage to Clark.
“Okay, just let me know when so I can tell Dr. Julie”
“I'll take care of that, you just rest and I will be back there shortly” Lex said finding a day that would work out well.
“Okay, love you” Clark said happy that Lex would be returning soon. Ever since the winter break, he hadn't had a lot to do since his school work was put on hold due to the treatment and the holiday season.
“Love you too and I will see you soon” Lex said before hanging up the phone.
“You have to be kidding me?!” Lex heard a few minutes later after he got off the phone with Clark.
“Boss” Abbey said marching into the room with a serious look on her face.
“Abbey” Lex threw right back at her.
“I can't possibly plan a party in a span of four days…four days!” Abbey said pulling at her shirt.
“Well that is the only day that it can be done, my meetings can not and will not be moved” Lex said getting into business mode.
“Four days! A whole company party in four days!” Abbey said now wanting to pull out her hair.
“Take it or leave it” Lex said making Abbey perk up at the challenge that he had just thrown at her.
“Oh, I'm taking it…..bring it on boss man, bring it on” Abbey said before walking out of the office and to her desk to get started on the planning. She knew she would need help but for the moment she had to get a list of all the things that would need to be taken care of.
“Abbey” Lex said over the intercom system, making the woman jump due to how deep she was in making a list in Excel.
“Yes” Abbey said in business mode her self.
“Please make sure that the only person that can reach me is my husband” Lex said knowing that Abbey would understand what he wasn't saying, which was ‘if anyone comes by; make them leave.'
“Consider it done Mr. Luthor” Abbey said before making a note in her spreadsheet. It was an hour later that Abbey was woken out of her planning by the ding of the elevator that lay before her. Abbey waited for the person that was on the elevator to come out, and come out they did for the person on the elevator was none other than Desiree Atkins.
“You” Desiree said waving her hand at Abbey like she was some sort of dog.
“Yes Ms….” Abbey said already knowing who it was and what she would have to do to make sure that the woman before her didn't disturb her boss.
“I'm here to see Mr. Luthor”
“I'm sorry but that isn't possible, if you would like to meet with Mr. Luthor you will need to make an appointment first.” Abbey said while buzzing for security to come up to Lex's office.
“I'm his wife, I can see my husband any time I want” Desiree said with a triumphant look on her face.
“I'm sorry but Mr. Luthor has not told me anything about a or wife being able to see him at this time, so I state again do you want to make an appointment to see Mr. Luthor?”
“Let me see him you…you bitch!” Desiree said getting angry, she had figured that by now Lionel had talked Lex into doing what was right, which was marrying her.
“Excuse me?” Abbey said angry and ready to fight the woman in front of her.
“You heard me loud and clear; now get my husband out here”
“Abbey?” A man said from behind Desiree.
“Please escort her out of the building” Abbey said a smirk on her face while watching as Desiree was taken to the elevator ranting and raving about how Lex was her husband and she had every right to see him.
“Abbey?” Lex called over the intercom after things had quieted down.
“Sorry about that boss, but it seems some woman that was certain she was your wife was here asking to see you”
“Make sure she can't come in the building or to this or any other floor, will you Abbey?” Lex said before sighing at how stupid both his father and Desiree were being.
“It's already done sir” Abbey said before going back to work on the plans for the party. Lex nodded his head as if she could see him and then clicked off the system. It was a half an hour later that Lex emerged from his office to leave for the rest of the day.
“I'm off” Lex said to Abbey who was twirling a strand of hair around a finger.
“Okay, later” Abbey said not taking her eyes off the computer screen that had internet browsers and her spreadsheet up, while waving to Lex as he left for the day.
“Black, white and lavender” Lex said knowing that Abbey was having a hard time picking out what colors to use for the party.
“What?” Abbey said now looking up with a confused look on her face.
“The colors…black, white and lavender”
“Oh? Oh!” Abbey said getting the idea now.
“Shoo, now go to your husband; I'll make sure things are ready for tomorrow morning's meeting” Abbey said reassuring Lex that she had everything under control. Lex nodded his head and then made his way to the elevator and then to the valet to go back to the hospital and to his husband; who was reading a book waiting for him.
“Clark ” Lex said by way of greeting his husband.
“Hey” Clark said putting the book down for a moment to get a kiss from Lex.
“How are you doing?” Lex asked concerned due to the tired look that was on Clark 's face.
“Tired” Clark said knowing that Lex knew how he felt. He had been trying to stay up until Lex arrived since it seemed that he wasn't able to sleep without Lex sleeping next to him.
“Then why aren't you taking a nap?” Lex said grabbing Clark 's hand and moving him to the bed from the chair that he was sitting in.
“I couldn't sleep” Clark said a small blush on his face, letting Lex know that he was the reason why Clark couldn't sleep.
“Come on” Lex said now sitting on the bed where Clark had laid down. Once Clark was in bed, Lex kicked off his shoes and took off his suit jacket before lying down with Clark . Soon there after Clark was asleep holding onto Lex as if he was a life line for him.
A few hours later Lex was woken up by his pant's pocket vibrating.
“Luthor” Lex said into the phone quietly enough that it didn't wake Clark .
“Alexander” Lionel said into the phone while looking at Lex's assistant with an evil eye.
“Father what a surprise to be hearing from you, again” Lex said before rubbing Clark 's shoulder to try and keep calm. His father calling was never a good thing but the way he sounded now was as if he had big plans for Lex and he didn't care how they were executed but they would be executed.
“Why is it that I am at your office and you are not here?”
“Because it is my office and my company and I decided to take some time for myself” Lex said knowing where this was going and not liking it one bit.
“Alexander” Lionel said now frustrated beyond belief over Lex's actions or inactions.
“Father is there some thing you wanted because right now I have better things to do then listen to you and your ideas for my life.” Lex said tired of playing games with Lionel.
“I am your father and you will listen to me” Lionel started before the ding of the elevator went off to let Lex know where Lionel Luthor really was.
“You are my father, but I don't have to do as you say. I am a grown man and you always loved to point out that fact when something goes wrong in my life.”
“Alexander”
“Will you stop calling me that” Lex said waking up Clark in the process.
“It is your given name and I will use it as I see fit” Lionel said now smirking since he had gotten his son angry enough to do something rash. What Lionel had forgotten was that Lex was with Clark and if Clark could do anything well it was calm Lex down before he did something he would later regret.
“Fine father” Lex said with a sigh before Clark put a hand on his thigh to show the other man that he was awake and there for any sort of support he could give.
“Now Alexander….you don't need to get that tone with me” Lionel said stepping off the elevator and making his way to his office at LuthorCorp.
“Father what do you want?” Lex said already going tired of the conversation and the no where it was going.
“I want you to sign that contract and bring it to my office after you are done.”
“No, and if you think that sending Ms. Atkins to my office was going to help you any, you thought wrong”
“Excuse me?” Lionel said confused, he had told the chit specifically to stay away from Lex and his office; but it seems as if someone had not listened.
“You heard me just fine father, Ms. Atkins dropped by to talk to her husband. Which she seemed to think was me, father I am married and happy can't you just leave things be?” Lex said before he heard a sigh from his father's side of the telephone.
“You are my son and I will always look out for your best interests even if that means breaking up a marriage that you seem to think you are happy in.” Lionel said knowing that his son really wanted his approval on his marriage. He hadn't gotten any details from Desiree on who Lex had married but by the way the woman spoke it was someone that he knew and was presumably a man, since his son seemed to favor the male form over the female form.
“You won't win father” Lex said before sighing since Clark was next to him kissing any available patch of skin that he could.
“This isn't about winning….” Lionel said before he was cut off by the line going dead.
“Clark ?” Lex said looking at Clark and the smirk on his face.
“Oops” Clark said taking the phone away from Lex and putting it on the far night table in the room.
“Clark ” Lex said his voice full of unasked questions.
“Yeah”
“Did you just hang up on my father?”
“If I did, do I get a gift?”
“Maybe” Lex said his voice amused at the way that Clark spoke as if hanging up on his husband's father was an everyday occurrence.
“Then, I sure did hang up on him” Clark said a smile on his face making Lex want to do things that he really shouldn't be thinking about at the present time due to the location of their bed.
“Are you trying to piss my father off?”
“Maybe”
“Clark ” Lex said shaking his head at his husband's words and knowing that they were true. That was one of the many things that Lex loved about Clark , that he had a personal agenda to make Lionel Luthor pay for all the wrongs he had done to his son while growing up.
“He can't have you” Clark said crossing his arms over his chest, while sticking out his jaw in a move that reminded Lex of Jonathan Kent.
“I know that, but he will try his damnest to get what he wants”
“Then he has to go through me and my parents first”
“Love you” Lex said choked up over the words that Clark spoke. He had always felt a part of the Kent family since becoming friends with Clark, but the words that Clark spoke made him feel at home and safe.
“And I love you my heart” Clark said with a kiss to Lex's cheek. It was as Lex was pulling Clark in for another kiss that the cell phone on the night table rang.
“Answer it” Lex whispered into Clark 's lips, not caring if his father was on the other side or not.
“Hello” Clark said after he grabbed the phone and opened it without looking at the caller ID.
“Where is my son?” Lionel said slightly confused on who was answering his son's phone.
“Here with me” Clark shot back, he was not going to let this man bring Lex down any more.
“Don't play with me”
“I'm not, listen up Lionel….”
“No”
“Shut up” Clark said making Lex stop the kissing that he was doing to Clark 's neck.
“Good, glad you understand that command” Clark said mouthing to Lex that it was his father. Lex tried to grab the phone but had little luck since Clark was on a mission to tell Lionel off.
“You are going to leave Lex alone, there aren't going to be any signed marriage contracts or anything like that. You are going to stop your quest to find Lex the perfect wife, because he has no need for one…”
“He will need an heir” Lionel said as if that was the reason for him controlling Lex's personal life.
“I don't care what you want, it is about what Lex wants and at the present time that is me” Clark said with a bit of a moan to let Lionel know that his son was making the other man moan in pleasure.
“He is my son…”
“And I am his husband, so I win. Just let it die Lionel for you won't win”
“How do you know that you are right for my son and that I won't get what I want in the end?” Lionel said thinking he had the caller backed into a corner.
“Because a Kent never gives up what they want and what I want I have so I'm not going to give it up to make you happy” Clark said before he heard Lionel gasp in shock that his son had married into the Kent family.
“Clark Kent ?” Lionel questioned hoping against hope that it was not Clark Kent on the other side of the phone. He had heard for hours, days, months, and even years about how great a friend that Clark was from his son.
“Luthor now, but that is a small detail” Clark said tapping Lex on the shoulder to make the other man stop his sucking on Clark 's neck.
“Put my son on the phone, now!” Lionel said stressed, he had not expected that Lex would up and marry Clark Kent , but now that he knew he had no idea how he was going to fix the mess that his son had made.
“Sorry, he's busy” Clark said smiling at Lex to show him that he had his father in a tizzy of emotions.
“Mr. Kent you will put my son on the phone; or I will….”
“What? Make me pay for not doing as you asked”
“Give me the phone” Lex said when he heard Clark 's words.
“Father” Lex said not even worried about what his father was going to say, since he had threatened his husband.
“Alexander, what do you think you are doing? Marrying a Kent ?” Lionel got out before Lex could tell him how he really felt.
“Father you will *not* threaten my husband” Lex said his face a calm mask that Clark knew better than to interrupt the conversation that was going on.
“I will do whatever I want, I am your father”
“You may be that, but I don't care who you are if you ever threaten or hurt my husband; I will show you how much of a Luthor I can be” Lex said making Clark shutter in fear for the man on the other side of the phone. When no words were spoken by Lex for a few minutes, he knew that Lionel was shocked speechless.
“Speechless? Didn't think I had it in me?” Lex said mocking his father and the words that he spoke to his son whenever something went wrong in the younger man's life.
“Alexander” Lionel said shocked and amazed that his son had threatened him over Clark Kent, a mere boy in his eyes.
“Listen closely father for I won't repeat myself. Leave me and my husband, Clark Luthor alone. If you don't I will make you understand why people fear me for being me and not your son.” Lex said before hanging up the phone and then turning the phone off so that he wouldn't be interrupted when he was making love to Clark .
“Luthor?” Clark said once he was certain that Lex had sort of calmed himself done.
“That you are and I plan to make my father understand that by whatever means possible” Lex said before pulling Clark into a kiss that both knew would lead to more.
“Please” Lex whispered into Clark 's ear that he was nibbling on. Clark could only nod his head in agreement for he knew that Lex needed this more than he needed comforting or even talking.
“Thank you my love for understanding” Lex said before getting off the bed and locking the door, so that they wouldn't be interrupted. While Lex locked the door, Clark took off his shirt trying to help as much as possible.
“Simply beautiful” Lex whispered before pouncing on Clark making the younger man moan at how possessive Lex was being. While Lex made love to Clark , Desiree Atkins had entered the children's hospital with a determined look on her face. She was on a mission she just didn't know that her mission would fail since Lex was at the hospital.
“Miss, miss” a nurse called on the floor that Clark was staying on. They had heard the lock on the door, and knew that keeping everyone at bay was the best idea for the time being.
“I need to speak with someone” Desiree said to the nurse in a condescending tone.
“Who are you here to visit?” The nurse said angry that this woman was treating the hospital as if it was some sort of department store where she could do as she pleased.
“That is not your concern”
“That is where you are wrong; I am the head nurse and all visitors have to sign in. Now I ask you again….who are you here to visit?”
“Kent, Clark Kent ” Desiree ground out, not happy with having to answer with some commoner.
“I'm sorry but he isn't allowed visitors at this time” the nurse said with a smirk to her face. She had no problem sending the woman to Clark 's room to find that Clark and his husband were busy doing things that the children of the hospital only saw on TV, if that.
“I just spoke to him earlier today” Desiree said stomping a high heeled foot on the floor.
“Well, that was then and this is now. His doctor has stated that he is to not have visitors” the nurse said before smiling as if nothing was wrong. It was at the same time that the door to Clark 's room opened and out walked Lex in a t-shirt and sleep pants that looked much too big for him.
“Lex!” Desiree yelled spotting Lex as he made his way to the small kitchen for something to drink. He was after all tired, due to the activities he had just finished with his husband. At the yell Lex turned around to see the last person he wanted to see making their way over to him.
“Lex, what are you doing here?” Desiree asked as if she didn't know that Lex had married Clark in California just a few days ago, she had after all made a trip there to blackmail Lex into marrying her due to the impending baby that she said she carried.
“What does it look like I am doing?” Lex said with a raise of his eyebrows, as if to say ‘are you that stupid?'
“You're not visiting *him* are you?” Desiree said with an ugly look on her face at the thought of Lex visiting Clark .
“What I do is my own and you need not worry about it” Lex said before continuing his walk to the kitchen for a small container of orange juice for Clark and a container of apple juice for himself.
“Of course I need to worry about it, I am your wife after all” Desiree said with as if Lex should have known.
“Not my wife, I am married yes but not to you” Lex said just as Clark came shuffling out of the room with only a pair of sleep pants and socks on. When Lex caught sight of his husband, he made a bee line to the younger man.
“What are you doing out of bed?” Lex said going into ‘Mother Luthor' mode, as Clark liked to call it not taking notice of Desiree and the look she had on her face.
“You were taking too long” Clark said before noticing Desiree standing there with a look that could only be described as pure fury.
“I got sidetracked, now get back to bed and I will be there shortly” Lex said before leaning up and kissing Clark on the lips making the small group of people that had gathered sigh at the sight. Clark nodded his head before eyeing Desiree one last time and then making his way back to bed to wait for Lex.
“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Desiree said to Lex's back as he watched Clark make his way to his room again. Once Lex was certain that Clark was safely in his room he spun around and pinned a stare to Desiree that made her very, very uncomfortable.
“What did you just say?” Lex said his gaze cool and under control which was never a good sign.
“I asked you what the hell do you think you are doing with that…..that *boy*; you're my husband and I find you *here* of all places kissing that boy as if you don't care about me or the baby.” Desiree said playing the part of wounded pregnant spouse.
“Enough, I have had enough of you and your schemes” Lex said finally breaking. Desiree was about to speak again but Lex cut her off by talking again.
“You are not married to me and you most certainly are *not* carrying my child. If you are pregnant that is by someone else and you know it….”
“Lex” Desiree said a shimmer of tears in her eyes.
“No, I'm not done speaking. That *boy* has a name and it is Clark Luthor, as it will be for the rest of my and his natural life.” Lex said in full Luthor mode that made most of the people that had gathered leave not wanting to get Lex's attention after he finished with the woman in front of him.
“As for caring, I could care less about you and yours so do your self and that baby, if there is one, a favor and leave me and my husband alone.” Lex said wanting to roll his eyes at how stupid Desiree was. It still amazed him that he had been so blinded by this woman that he hadn't noticed that she was a lying and conceited bitch.
“How….what….” Desiree said not able to put a complete sentence together due to the shock that she was having over what Lex had just said. She had been certain that Lex was still at his office when she decided to pay Clark Kent another visit to tell him to back off or suffer the consequences, but it seemed that her plan had gone to pot due to Lex being at the hospital and with Clark at the time.
“But your father” Desiree started out only to be laughed quiet.
“Has never had and will never have control over me, you should have known that. My father is a man that will never, ever decide who I speak to or who I spend my time with or who I love; that decision is made by me and me alone so running to my father will get you no where with me.” Lex said ready to go back to Clark 's room and hold his husband.
“Mr. Luthor?” Another voice said from behind Desiree.
“Yes” Lex said pinching the bridge of his nose.
“We were told there was an unwanted visitor, is this correct?” The man said looking between the woman and Lex as if asking with his eyes ‘is this the person?'
“There is” Lex said nodding his head to where Desiree stood, looking like a model from a fashion magazine.
“Wait….” Desiree said trying to slow her leaving without getting anywhere with Lex.
“I'm sorry miss but you need to leave his floor and the hospital” the security guard said to Desiree trying to keep things as quiet as possible, but it seemed that Desiree wasn't going to leave without a fight.
“I have every right to be here, I'm visiting my sister”
“And she would be?” The security guard asked skeptical of the woman having a sister at the hospital.
“Ava Roberts” Desiree said not noticing the look of anger that came over Lex's face before going smooth with the Luthor mask.
“Isn't she a volunteer?” Lex shot back, not wanting to believe that Desiree was using her sister as a way to stay on the floor.
“Yes” Desiree said proud of the fact that she has out smarted Lex, if only she knew.
“Well then there is no need for you to be on this floor, how about you go down to the volunteer's desk and visit with your sister there.” Lex said before nodding to the security guard to let him know he was done dealing with the woman.
“Lex” Desiree whined to the bald man as he made it the rest of the way to the small kitchen. He was not going to waste any more time talking or even dealing with the woman, he had a husband to tend to and he planned to do that as much as the other man would allow him.
“Lex” Desiree screamed as she was being lead off the floor by the security guard. Lex shook his head while looking for he wanted drinks that he had been sent out to get. When Lex arrived back to the main area of the floor Desiree had just stepped onto the elevator with the security guard holding an arm.
“Lex” Desiree shouted one last time before the elevator doors closed on the two in the car.
“Chit” Lex said not stopping his walk back to Clark 's room.
“You okay?” Clark asked as Lex came in a bundle of tension and anger. Lex took a deep breath before letting it go and speaking.
“I'll be fine, but I am going to make sure that she pays for what she did to you and is still doing to us.” Lex said with a look that told Clark that he wasn't going to be talked out of this by him or anyone else for that matter. Clark just nodded his head in agreement before holding out a hand for the juice that lay in Lex's hand. It was as the evening sun set that Lex got a call from his father.
“Alexander”
“Father, what a surprise to be hearing from you” Lex said a smirk on his face since he knew that Desiree would go running to his father after their run-in.
“Don't” Lionel said at his wits end because of Desiree Atkins. He had been certain that the woman would be perfect for his son but the more time he spent with her, either in bed or out, he was beginning to doubt that the woman would be able to keep up with his genius son.
“I assume this is about Desiree Atkins, is it not?”
“She stated that you aren't claiming the child she is carrying” Lionel said by way of agreement to Lex's words.
“True, because it is not nor will it ever be my child. We went through this; I never slept with her so it can't be mine.” Lex said as if explaining this to a small child and not his father.
“Don't lie; it's not a good habit to start”
“Father you know me better than that, or I would hope that you do. Do you really think I would not do the right thing if the child was mine?” The words that Lex spoke left Lionel speechless. He had assumed that his son was lying to him and was only doing this to piss him off, he never thought that Lex would actually do the right thing should the child be his. It was as this revelation came that Lionel finally understood how much Clark Kent, as well as the Kent family had affected his son. He had always been his mother's son but in the years after Lillian Luthor death, Lex had done all in his power to piss off his father and it had worked very well. Now though, now was a completely different person that Lionel didn't know how to handle for it seemed as if Lex had not only grown a backbone but also had a moral code, which Lionel was certain was Clark 's doing. Lionel finally understood that his son would not be backing down now or ever when it came to his life and who he planned to spend it with.
“I'll take care of Desiree Atkins” Lionel said before hanging up the phone and leaving Lex speechless himself.
“Lex?” Clark called out concerned because of the look of shock that was on Lex's face.
“My father….my father just buckled” Lex said amazed that his father, a man who had no issue leaving his son to die if he were taken hostage had just given into him and not gracefully at all.
“What?”
“I won, he is going to get rid of Desiree Atkins” Lex said happy that his father seemed to understand that his marriage to Clark was forever and not a passing fancy.
“So Lionel Luthor really is a lamb?” Clark said remembering the remark he had made about the man just a day earlier. When Lex heard the words he began to laugh until he had tears in his eyes.
“Seems he is” Lex said before kissing Clark for his silly remark about his father. Clark always did know how to calm and center him.
"Good to know” Clark said a bright smile on his face that made Lex love him even more, if that was even possible.
“Now you rest, and I have business that I have to get done before my meeting in the morning” Lex said before pushing Clark back on the bed and then grabbing the bag that he had brought with him from the office. For the rest of the evening Lex spent his time in between checking to see how Clark was doing and working on notes for the meeting that would take place tomorrow morning. Little did either know that Desiree Atkins was on her way back to Smallville to cause trouble for Clark .
